GETTING YOUR BEARINGS! (07:55)
You’ll notice that across the top and down the left side of your Pixifi window is this gray navigation bar. You’ll see as we continue to work throughout various modules and tabs across Pixifi that these navigation bars never change.
Along the left side is where you will be doing most of your navigation within Pixifi. Each of these icons represent groupings of modules that are related in some way. You’ll see as you hover over any of these icons that a list of modules included in that section will appear. We have grouped these modules in this way in an effort to keep them organized and minimize clutter within our software design, but you will find that some modules may overlap in purpose and/or function and can even be accessed from other locations within Pixifi. So just remember: if you ever feel disoriented as you begin working with this software, you can always use these left and top navigation bars as an constant landmark.
As a side note, if you ever need to remind yourself how you got to whichever page or view you are on, you can always check out what we call the “breadcrumb trail" which orients you to your current location and how you got there. If you ever need to go back one screen, you can simply do that by clicking on one of the breadcrumbs in your trail!
Along the top navigation bar, you will find many helpful tools and shortcuts as well. As you become more advanced in your Pixifi skills, you will find this Search bar incredibly useful! This LIGHTNING BOLT icon offers many short-cuts to save you time in many ways as well. This little notification icon will show you any alerts about activity within your account and the icon next to it will show you a list of tasks on your to-do list for today. Another thing I want to draw attention to is this little help button at the top! If you ever get stuck, you can ask a question here and the system will generate a support ticket for our help team, but at virtually any time of day you may be able to receive a quick response from your peers and/or one of our administrators if you post your question within our facebook support community instead. If you hover over your name, you can customize your background, update your account information, etc.
So that’s about it for your freshman orientation! Grab your bean bag chair, your mini-fridge, and some ramen noodles and meet me at your first class, 101: All About Leads!
